The GMP wind band were joined by a choir of local school children for an evening of carols and festive music at St. Luke's Church in Benchill on Thursday 8 December.
Chief Inspector Hemingway welcomed everyone to the packed church, who sang along to traditional carols such as Once in Royal David's City and Silent Night.
Michael Thomas conducted the band for the performance: he also plays French Horn with us. He said of the service:
"it was lovely to be welcomed to this division for such a special Christmas event. It was a pleasure to be part of so many people's festive season and it was great to hear such fine singing voices from the choir and congregation!"
The school children of Baguley Hall Primary School, Newall Green Primary School and Benchill Primary School gave fabulous performances.
Thanks to the organisers for inviting us and putting on such a lovely carol service. We hope to see you again next year.
