Saturday 26 November – Sax Quartet at the Trafford Centre

The sax quartet performed at Intu Trafford Centre on Saturday 26 November. It was a pleasure to have been invited to perform to help raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Care.

Heather Murphy, Community Fundraiser for North and Midlands Brest Cancer Care said:

"the GMP quartet really got everyone in the festive spirit and I hope you enjoyed the opportunity to perform as much as the public enjoyed your performance! Breast Cancer Care are so grateful for your support and your performance will have made a massive difference to the lives of local people impacted by breast cancer."

The charity were delighted that the whole event raise an incredible £1,188.10

We hope to be able to support future breast cancer care events and look forward to working with the charity again in the future.

Helena Hornby – vocals and saxophone

0008Helena has been performing with GMP Band since 2009. She's been playing sax and clarinet since the age of 12 and has always loved performing on stage, entertaining an audience.

She joined the Lancashire Students' Jazz Orchestra as a teenager, first on tenor sax and then moving to baritone, and there Helena developed a love for belting out a beefy bari bass-line, and as the rest of the band will tell you, she certainly doesn't shy away from those low notes!
